Participant Instructions

Parade packets will be ready to pick up on December 5th from 8 AM to 10 AM from SKYNET, 1717 Cole Street.
Information staging tent will be open at noon on Washington Avenue, north of the Enumclaw Library.  You may
begin staging as soon as you have received your packet.

The judges will begin judging between 12:30 and 1:00 as they wander the staging area.   We want to announce
winners as they appear in the parade.   Awards will be in the following areas: Best Use of Theme; Best Use of
      Recycled Materials; Antique or Classic Auto; Costume Group/Adult; Costume Group/Child; Float/commercial;
Float/non-profit;  the last, Best Show of Four-legged Friends will be better judged during the parade and
announced at the end of the parade.

Place your entry number on the right (passenger) front side of your unit so that it can be clearly seen by our announcer.

All drivers of motorized vehicles must carry a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

All drivers of motorcycles and four-wheelers must wear helmets as required by Washington State law.
Please no stunts or wheelies.  PLEASE WATCH FOR CHILDREN RUNNING INTO THE STREET.

No item may be thrown from any parade entry. Candy,  items may be handed out.  Please make sure all of your
entry participants are aware of  and adhere to this condition of participation.  We want to keep everyone safe!

Santa will appear in the parade. No entry may include a live Santa Claus.

Parade route travels south on Cole Street beginning at Washington Avenue and culminating at Monroe Avenue.
Judging platform will be located at Initial on the West side of Cole Street.
THE PARADE WILL STALL each time a participating marching band performs for the judges.  There will be Parade
Hosts and Hostesses all along the route with walkie-talkies to direct starts and stops.  Please be sure to watch for
a change in movement and look to these Hosts/Hostesses.  Each will be wearing a candy-cane striped scarf on
      his/her neck.

Please maintain no less than a 5 foot margin between your unit and the unit in front of you at all times.

If you are a unit with children, please arrange ahead of time a parent/child pick up location for after the parade.
The staging area is very congested with animals, vehicles and floats.  If parents can pick up their children in
another location after the parade, it will ease congestion and make it easier for parents to locate their children.

The Enumclaw Police will direct you back to the staging area via Railroad and Griffin to First Street. If you do not
need to return to the staging area you may turn out at the intersection.  Otherwise, do not stop to unload; please
keep moving in order to avoid backing up the remaining parade participants.

Thank you for your participation.  Have fun!  Merry Christmas!
