Candyland Battle of the Bands!

$1000 Prize Money at Stake!

Enumclaw, WA

Cash prizes will be offered to the top three competing school bands at the
28th Annual Enumclaw Christmas Parade & Holiday Celebration
on Saturday, December 5, 2009
hosted by the Mt. Rainier Independent Business Alliance.
The event theme this year is “Welcome to Candyland!”

Sponsored by Enumclaw Self Storage owner Glen Jensen,
first prize of $700, second prize of $200 and third prize of $100
will be awarded by a panel of judges
from around King and Pierce Counties
at the end of the parade.
Judges will evaluate participating units on the following criteria:
performance
musical quality
precision
expression
appearance
choreography
and entertainment value.

Each entry is encouraged to “give us a snapshot of your showcase”
as they are allowed to perform one number in front of the judges’ stand
on Cole Street between Initial and Stevenson,
though they will have the opportunity to show more of their programs
throughout the parade in downtown Enumclaw.

Open to middle school and high school programs in western Washington,
this is an element of the event that Coordinator Celia Bender
hopes to expand on in future years.

Lynda Alley, Band Director at Enumclaw High School,
is prepared to take all-comers.

The challenge is issued to meet the Hornets on their home turf!

Band application deadline is November 1.
